8 November 2025, we celebrate the 20th of abz.agency. How did it happen?! 20 years ago, the idea arose to create a company that would do what others were unable to do. Without investors, without investments, was chosen the turtle strategy (long game) and reinvestment. A strategy was chosen for company employees to grow, train, and continuously develop them. A PDP (Personal Development Plan) program and an Onboarding (Company Bootcamp) program were developed. This approach allows us to grow guys who then work for the company for many years. The longest-serving employee has been with the company for 16 years. This allows the company to retain expertise within the team. For our clients, we do what others simply won't touch. Quite a few companies (no offense) do something mediocre and simple. But when the task goes beyond the usual scope, other companies can't handle it. Our company is focused on developing complex custom solutions from the outset. The company's first project was not a small website; we developed a Business Management System (6800 hours) with launch, implementation, and next development over several years. Then came projects lasting several years. Currently, we have clients with whom we have been working for over 10 years. But the main feature of the company is its regulations (rules, principles, restrictions, requirements, postulates, etc.). Everyone in the company knows the regulations and works as a single organism using a single conceptual framework. Our super-secret ingredient for success is the Project Manager Regulation. It allows customers to work with us faster and easier than with any GPT, and at the same time, we provide real feedback by telling the truth and working honestly. Project Manager is a very powerful position in our company, covering many areas: Executive Manager, Business Analyst, Product Manager, Product Owner, Team Leader, Project Manager. This allows our clients to receive tremendous UX and Swiss watch precision when working with our company, along with regulatory compliance. What's next? Congratulations to our 3 QA specialists. One of them is celebrating 4 years with the Ukrainian team, and two others are marking 3 years and 2 years working in the Tallinn office. In IT projects, the importance of testing is sometimes underestimated, but this definitely doesn't apply to abz.agency. Each of our projects has at least 2 QA specialists, mandatory self-testing is implemented, and the testing process is clearly defined at each stage of project development. For all QA, it's important not just to know the basics of testing, but to constantly go into the details and specifics of the work, to keep focused and not lose alertness. At abz.agency, we create an environment where our team members grow, learn new tools, and get deeper into automation, UI/UX testing, mobile application and browser extension testing, and performance testing. Everyone can choose their own development path and keep learning, even after 2, 3, 5, or more years at the company. Two years ago, our BDM brought a little black ball of fur into the office. Management immediately approved all the necessary veterinary care. We even made small openings in the office walls so the cat could move freely when the doors were closed. She totally runs the place. 😸🔩 Our beloved cat is allowed to do anything. She’s scratched up all the leather sofas and chairs — but we love her all the same. She's truly the soul of our company. Gaika became the queen of the office. She greets everyone who walks in and sees them off at the end of the day. During work hours, she either helps the team focus or distracts them with playtime. Sometimes she curls up and naps under a monitor.
Today, we celebrate two years of hard work in the company for one of our remarkable Project Managers. She originally joined as a QA specialist, driven by a strong desire to grow. During her interview, she highlighted her background in management, having earned a degree in the field. Six months in, she became increasingly interested in the role of a Project Manager (PM). However, stepping into a leadership position requires more than just ambition — it demands extensive knowledge and expertise. To pave the way, we developed a PDP (Personal Development Plan), focusing on both management (from leadership fundamentals to negotiation skills) and technical knowledge (from UI/UX principles to backend development standards). After another six months of continuous learning, she earned the title of PM Assistant. PM Assistant is a transitional role between an individual contributor and a manager. At this stage, both soft and hard skills were put to the test. More hands-on experience, increased responsibility, deeper engagement with the PDP, and a growing stack of books to study — it was a period of intense development. Becoming a PM isn’t just about wanting it — it’s a true “samurai’s path.” A journey of constant learning that continues to this day. The launch of abz.agency in Estonia started with just a couple of people and a major renovation of our first office, T1, in Tallinn. So, what’s changed in 2.5 years? At first, we were finding our footing. Then, the team started growing rapidly. Some colleagues relocated to T1 from our Kyiv offices, while we actively hired local specialists. As the space filled up, we found, renovated, and opened a second office, T2, in the city center. Recently, we decided to refresh T1 and add some bold accents. Last week, we completed a light renovation. The ceiling got a facelift with painted frames and new white panels, brightening up the space. The walls weren’t left out either — we put up new posters, including an epic Witcher print, while a Deadpool water gun adds a playful touch. 6 years in the company – from PHP developer to Project Manager. His journey began in the Kyiv office of abz.agency. Over three years ago, with the company’s support, he relocated to Estonia and has been successfully leading a team from the Tallinn office ever since. He’s seen it all - tight deadlines, last-minute ASAP tasks, teammates in need of support (or sometimes a gentle kick in the rear) to take action. These challenges have become a natural part of his work, shaping him as a leader. Was it easy? Of course not. And it still isn’t - because he keeps pushing himself every day, learning, evolving, and improving. He’s the kind of person who, when setting a goal, doesn’t hesitate - he just makes it happen. Today we celebrate the anniversary of our Lead PM - 5 years with abz.agency. As the saying goes, everyone loves a good story, and this one is worth telling. He joined the company as a Junior Lead Generation Manager, hitting the ground running and quickly proving his potential. Before long, he stepped into the role of Sales Manager, and later, Lead Sales Manager. When the opportunity arose to try his hand at being PM, he didn’t hesitate to take it. It turns out that decision was spot on. Now, as Lead PM, he’s not only managing exciting projects but also contributing to the project’s strategic growth. No challenge is too big for him. His strong sales background gives him a unique perspective, enabling him to see projects beyond the technical scope and focus on delivering value. Despite holding the Lead PM title, he remains grounded and approachable. He communicates in a way that makes everyone feel like an essential part of the team. Whether it’s sharing a piece of practical advice, offering support during tough times, or cracking a joke to ease the workload, he knows how to strike a balance between being a leader and fostering a sense of camaraderie.
